Amelia Frazão Moreira

Amélia Frazão Moreira has a PhD in Social Anthropology from ISCTE (Lisbon, 2000) and is currently Professor at the Department of Anthropology at FCSH/Universidade Nova de Lisboa, Portugal. She is senior researcher at CRIA (Centre for Research in Anthropology, Portugal). Her main fields of research are environmental anthropology, ethnobiology, and ethnoecology. She has coordinated and participated in different research projects, conducting studies on the cultural and historically constructed relationships between humans, non-humans and the environment, questioning social rationalities, touristification processes, and biodiversity conservation programs in Portuguese and African contexts (Mauritania, Guinea-Bissau and Mozambique).
