Chandrakant Salunkhe

Dr Chandrakant B. Salunkhe is working as Associate Professor at the Post Graduate Center of Botany, Krishna Mahavidylaya, Shivnagar, Rethare Bk., Maharashtra, India. His areas of expertise is in Sacred Groves, botanic gardens, ex-situ and in-situ conservation of RET plants, grass systematics, garden tourism, ethnobotany and herbal medicine. He has got a Ph.D. degree from Shivaji University, Kolhapur, MS, India. He has visited Australia, Turkey, UK, Thailand, Indonesia, China, Malaysia, The Netherlands, Switzerland, Oman, and Egypt for attending International conferences as a Keynote, Plenary and Invited speaker and also to present papers as sponsored participant. He has organized a Symposium at the 13th IABG conference held in China (2012). He has produced 36 publications and 4 books. He has completed 4 projects funded by MoEF and UGC, New Delhi. At this time he is working on ‘Mapping and Conservation of Sacred Groves Biodiversity from Konkan Region of Maharashtra state’.
