Christopher Johnson

Christopher “CW” Johnson is an Assistant Professor of Literacy Education at the University of Minnesota Duluth. He and his family live on a rocky hillside high above the cold waters of Lake Superior, which he views from his backyard whenever possible. His scholarly interests are in literacy, teacher and learner beliefs, educational foundations, and environmental topics in literature. He has published manuscripts in educational foundations, literacy education, and teacher preparation. At present he is working on several scholarly works in environmental thought, including a portrait of environmental thought in Jim Harrison’s writing. Dr. Johnson has worked in schools for 30 years, including an extended stint as a working environmental educator in northern Minnesota, which he is proud to call home. He has degrees from Harvard University, The University of Minnesota, and the University of Missouri-Columbia.
