I am a Research Associate on the Kailash Sacred Landscape project of ICI-ICIMOD and have been doing archival and field work in Kumaon (Uttarakhand, India) and Far Western Nepal since more than a year now. As a part of the project, I also travelled to Kailash Mansarovar (TAR, China) via the Lipulekh pass with Indian pilgrims in August 2016. I hold an M.Phil. degree in modern Indian History from the Centre for Historical Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University. My M.Phil. research revolved around aspects of colonial power in the Kumaon-western Tibet borderland in the 19th century A.D.
She is also part of the ICI research team.
