Ian Baker

Ian Baker is an anthropologist and cultural historian and the author of numerous books and academic articles related to the Himalayan region, including “The Heart of the World: A Journey to the Last Secret Place”. He was named by National Geographic Society as one of seven ‘Explorers for the Millennium’ for his documentation of a waterfall in Tibet’s Tsangpo Gorge that had been “the source of mystery and geographical speculation for more than a century”. He currently works within the Department of History at the University of Strathcylde in Glasgow, Scotland.
